On April 11, 2025, the 61st anniversary commemoration night organized by the Çaykara and Dernekpazarı Cultural Solidarity Association brought together respect for the past and responsibility for the future under one roof. The event, which honored deep-rooted values, social unity, and a history shaped through struggle, stood out as a meaningful gathering that reinforced collective memory and cultural continuity.

One of the highlights of the evening was the premiere of the short film “1918: Liberation”, coordinated by Yasin Yavuz and produced by Dada Istanbul. Developed with artificial intelligence–supported production techniques, the film focuses on the occupation and liberation period of Çaykara and Dernekpazarı between 1916 and 1918. Beyond being a historical narrative, the project aims to carry local memory into the digital age and preserve it for future generations.

In this project, Yasin Yavuz adopted an approach that combines historical content with contemporary technological possibilities. The target audience of the film includes not only those with a direct interest in regional history, but also younger generations seeking to connect with the past through digital media. By blending archival materials, AI-based visual storytelling, and a modern narrative language, the liberation struggle was reinterpreted in a way that is both accessible and impactful for today’s audience.

Coordinated by Yasin Yavuz, the project stands out as a strong example of how cultural heritage can be preserved through digital transformation and transformed into social impact. During the event, plaques were also presented to contributors of the organization and the project, symbolizing the living tradition of gratitude and remembrance. The night was widely regarded as an inspiring model for future cultural and digital initiatives centered on local history.
